How to Make Excel Dashboards Clear Enough for Weekly Planning

A planning dashboard should answer three questions: what changed, why it changed, and what action is needed. Do not start with chart types. Start with the meeting agenda.
Use Power Query or structured tables to clean and refresh data. Use PivotTables or formulas to calculate the indicators. Keep the visual layer focused on trends, exceptions, and owner-level accountability.
If a chart does not change a decision, remove it.
