Gil is the primary currency in Final Fantasy XIV. Players can acquire it through treasure chests, defeated enemies and selling items they own; or quickly generate it by opening shops in Urbeth or using Gil Toss ability.
Players can earn considerable wealth by completing quests, dungeons and Guildleves, with certain monsters dropping materials that sell well on the Market Board.
How to Earn Gil
There are various methods of earning Gil in Final Fantasy XIV, though some will require more effort on your part than others. The main story, daily duty roulettes and the challenge log all offer ways of earning Gil, while many side quests and levequests also award it.
Other ways of making money include day trading (buying items on another world for less than their fair value and selling them on yours at a higher price), hunting monsters for their drops or venturing deep dungeons such as Palace of the Dead, Heaven-on-High or Eureka Orthos.
Crafting is another viable means of earning FFXIV Gil, due to the high demand for gear and food items on the Market Board. Unfortunately, however, competition among players often means being undercut on this front by rival bidders.
Quests
Final Fantasy XIV’s primary currency, Gil, can be obtained in various ways. These include main story and job quests, completing dungeons and hunting expeditions or purchasing items related to Gil from merchants.
Gil can also be earned through guildleves and duties on the Duty Finder, killing monsters and through fighting other players. How much gil you receive depends on its level and difficulty of each battle you enter into.
Treasure Maps can provide a large amount of f14 gil, Tomestones and Ventures as rewards, with rare materials or minion gear being dropped for you to sell on the Market Board and make some quick money quickly.
Dungeons
Dungeons often provide players with large sums of Gil, making them great sources for quick cash-gathering. Furthermore, these dungeons may also yield rare minion drops or highly sought-after materials.
Additionally, several dungeons now feature Hard versions for an even greater challenge, offering new layouts, enemies, and bosses.
Dungeons provide an effective means of leveling gear early on in the game. While early level gear doesn’t look quite as nice later, you can use GC seals to upgrade it with better appearance options using Duty Support feature or Grand Company Squadrons; these allow them to skip queue times while still fulfilling quest rewards without risking main scenario quests.
Crafting
In Final Fantasy XIV, there are various ways to earn Gil, such as completing main scenario quests or side missions. Dungeons offer additional ways of earning FFXIV Gil but typically require longer to complete than its alternatives.
Crafting is an excellent way to quickly earn Gil, as most items are always in high demand. However, crafting requires advanced crafting skills and items can often be quite expensive.
Players can earn Gil through other methods as well, including selling treasure maps or completing Levequests and FATEs; however, these methods are less reliable than completing quests, dungeons, or killing monsters.
Market Board
As players can sell any equipment that they no longer require on the Market Board in all cities, this can be an efficient way to quickly accumulate Gil. How much Gil a player is able to generate depends on what item it is and their willingness to pay for it.
Retainer Ventures offer another method of quickly earning Gil, with potential returns that could make these risks worthwhile investments.
Players can earn Gil quickly through day trading. This method involves scanning various servers’ Market Boards for items selling cheaply, and then reselling them at higher prices to generate income. Although time-consuming, day trading can provide steady sources of income.
